Violinist/Composer
Edgar Gabriel performs, teaches and composes music in the styles of classical, jazz, fiddle and rock. He has worked with such diverse performing ensembles such as Cirque du Soleil and Steppenwolf Theater. He can be heard on numerous CD’s including Cheap Trick’s “Special One,” Rachel Barton Pine’s “Storming the Citadel,” and most recently, with the Plain White T’s for their soon to be released CD.

Edgar Gabriel’s StringFusion. This musical ensemble fuses elements of rock, classical and world music into its intelligent entertaining character.
Edgar Gabriel is also a music educator. His String Groove® publications teach improvisation, fiddling and other styles outside of traditional violin repertoire Edgar currently is on the music faculty of Elmhurst College and William Rainey Harper College. Mr. Gabriel holds an undergraduate degree in music from Northern Illinois University and a Master of Music in Jazz Studies from DePaul University.
Edgar resides in a suburb of Chicago with his wife Melissa, daughter Annabel, son Josef and Zappa the cat.
